01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch round or square cake pan.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together mashed bananas, vegetable oil, eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fully combined.
03 - In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
04 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just blended. Avoid overmixing.
05 - Fold in most of the chocolate chips, reserving a small handful to sprinkle over the top of the batter.
06 - Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Sprinkle reserved chocolate chips evenly over the surface.
07 - Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs attached.
08 - Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into slices.
